At first, it was a small family idea without a name.
We simply wanted to create something together. To bring a little beauty and art into everyday life.
We decided it would be jewelry - modern, aligned with our taste, and connected to the sea.
Because we live by the sea.
We searched for a name for a long time.
But one day, while once again in Hanko, we felt it: this was the missing piece.
Our collections is our tribute to its sea, villas, beaches, and people.
If you've never heard of Hanko…
Hanko is the southernmost town in Finland, located on a peninsula.
It combines the charm of northern nature with the relaxed rhythm of a seaside resort: sea on both sides, wind, beaches, a marina filled with yachts, restaurants, wooden northern Art Nouveau villas from the turn of the 19th–20th centuries, and just enough sunshine to call it a summer resort.
During the rest of the year, it becomes quieter: autumn, winter and the wind transform Hanko into something entirely different.
Hanko is a special state of mind in any season.
Northern nature and the relaxed pace of a coastal town. Sea breeze, sails in the marina, sunglasses, and no rush.
All of this perfectly reflected what we wanted to express in our collections: northern aesthetics influenced by nature, the sea, and life in a seaside resort town.
That's how HNKO was born - and the place we are now forever connected to.
Why HNKO, not... Hanko?

We carefully select pieces from European manufacturers and curate them into collections inspired by our ideas and the atmosphere of Hanko.
We live in Helsinki, but we regularly travel to Hanko.
Every trip there is an event - and a reset that lasts for weeks.
